REME surprises some very happy Imagineers
It was busy summer for WO1 Iain Quince of the 6 Battalion Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (REME) Regimental Recruiting Team! He found himself at a number of schools presenting stunning mountain bikes to some very surprised – but very pleased – youngsters! They had all won a bike, generously donated by REME, in the special Grand Draws held at each of the Imagineering Fair.

The 6 Bn REME Recruiting team have been loyal supporters of Imagineering since 2001 and they to are eager to encourage youngsters to follow an engineering career path. REME soldiers are highly skilled engineers and work at the cutting edge of technology to maintain the Army’s high-tech equipment.

Iain Quince popped in to Severn Vale School in Gloucester to surprise 14-year-old James Lythe with his mountain bike, which he won in the Grand Draw at Imagineering at the TRI@RIAT at the Royal International air Tattoo at RAF Fairford – the first time that Imagineering had been at this event

Jonathan Wylie, 11, was the ‘target’ this time when REME’s WO1 Iain Quince travelled to Warwick School with yet another brand new mountain bike, which Jonathan won when he visited Imagineering Fair at the Town and Country Festival at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. Young Jonathan had only been at the school 3 weeks and when he saw the Head Teacher and his parents first thing in the morning he wondered if he was in trouble! Needless to say, it was all a very lovely surprise!
