The Fair got off to a grand start with an official opening by Mr Andrew Ives, President of the Inst of Mechanical Engineers (with microphone) and Mr Al Kammerer of Jaguar (green polo shirt) as they ceremoniously drove through the archway in the special Jaguar – BAD1 - used in the Bond movies. Oscar the talking robot was also on hand to ‘supervise’ (right) as usual!

Oscar the talking robot, seen here with his "chaperone" Sue, is a popular regular at the Fair, frequently found at the centre of attention, often peace-mkaing between brothers and sisters!
