| Westland Helicopters wins Team Challenge Trophy |
The IMAGINEERING TEAM CHALLENGE was a thrilling new daily Main Ring event. Teams of apprentices and young engineers from Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Bristol and Westland Helicopters, Yeovil raced 3/4 tonne Army trailers around a demanding obstacle course and against the clock, under the watchful eye of REME adjudicators, testing the teams’ ingenuity and strength. The teams competed for a magnificent Bristol Blue Glass Trophy donated by the Fleet Air Arm Museum, and presented by Rear Admiral Terry Loughran, Chairman of the Museum’s Trustees.
However, although weather meant the race had to be abandoned on two of the days, the WESTLAND HELICOPTERS team proved to be resounding winners in spite of hard work from the Airbus and Rolls-Royce teams!
