Lord Mayor of Coventry supports Imagineering
The Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor John Gazey, invited local businesses and educational establishments to a special reception in the city’s St Mary’s Guildhall, to find out about the development of Imagineering. Councillor Gazey became interested in the project while visiting the Imagineering Fair at the Town & Country Festival, at Stoneleigh Park, last year. He was impressed by the diverse range of organisations and businesses providing young people with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of engineering activities.

Local manufacturers and business organisations also heard personal endorsements from companies already taking part in the initiative and personally experienced Imagineering in action with the hands-on activities on display by organisations including Caterpillar, Jaguar and REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers). Children also demonstrated the activities they undertake in the Imagineering Clubs.

Cllr Gazey commented "I welcome the opportunities Imagineering provides to bring together the creativity of the young and the development of applications for the future. Coventry has thrived, and will continue to thrive, on just this approach"
